paragraph about cialisInfertility may be associated with miscarriages, and could be treated by Clomid

02.12.2016

The good news is that most miscarriages occur by chance, and only once in a lifetime. Bad news is that multiple miscarriages may be associated with infertility. Fortunately, there are plenty of ways to get pregnant, from taking proper drugs, like Clomid, to insemination. Every has its benefits and risks.

Usually miscarriage happens in the first three months of pregnancy. Anyway, in most cases a woman is unlikely to have further problems. On the other side, there is a strong risk to experience some psychological trauma, so a woman may need a family and professional support.

But what if one had two or more episodes of miscarriage, and infertility is diagnosed? Let’s observe two most popular ways to get pregnant, Clomid (Serophene, or Clomiphene) drug, and insemination.

Clomid infertility treatment

Clomid or clomiphene citrate, was originally developed as anovulation treatment for those who are unable to ovulate on their own. Nowadays it is also used to stimulate extra follicles development in women who do ovulate. Briefly, the drug causes the pituitary gland to release hormones needed to stimulate ovulation.

Before taking the medicine, a woman should make sure that she is not already pregnant, and don’t have certain diseases. Anyway, a proper health check before taking Clomid is needed. There is no need to worry about the cost of this kind of treatment: Clomid is cheap, and an average course will take up to $100, depending on the dosage, etc.

There are some risks of choosing this fertility treatment drug. Using Clomid for more than three treatment cycles may increase the risk of developing an ovarian tumor. As any other medicine, it has some side effects. Also, most kinds of infertility treatment increase chances of having twins, or triplets.

Clomid usage and dosage should be directed by a health care professional. Commonly it is taken for five days, starting from the fifth day of a period. The average dose is 50mg of Clomid or twice more. In most cases women ovulate just within five to ten days after taking the medication.

Insemination procedure

Insemination may improve the chances of getting pregnant in some cases. Male partner’s sperm, or donor sperm is used, depending on a man’s health conditions.

A thin, flexible catheter is used to put sperm, washed and concentrated, into the woman's reproductive tract. This technique is often combined with superovulation medicine treatment, in order to increase the number of eggsavailable.

The result of this kind of infertility treatment, unlike Clomid treatment, is influenced by a woman's age. It also increases the risk of multiple pregnancy. On the other side, insemination is the simplest procedure among assisted reproduction methods.
